Mark The Date For Finovate 2008

August 19, 2008 by Ron Shevlin

Truth be told, I hate going to most conferences. I hate traveling, I hate listening to people who can’t present worth a dime (regardless of whether or not they’re using Powerpoint or Keynote), and I especially hate listening to vendors blow smoke up my…

But I loved the Finovate Startup conference that took place in SF this past April. Forty vendors were given 7 minutes to pitch their value to the financial services world — 20 in the morning, 20 in the afternoon, with plenty of time in between to chat with both the vendors and other attendees. And no Powerpoint.

So that’s why I’ve registered to attend Finovate 2008 in New York on October 14. Hope to see you there. If you’re thinking about going, but need some incentive, Jim Bruene has given me a discount code to pass on to five people that will get them $250 off the registration price. If you’re interested, email me.

p.s. If any of the cool people want to go hear a great band with me, Umphrey’s McGee is playing in NY that night (the old folks can go to Crosby & Nash out on Long Island).
