Off-Topic: On A Personal Note Revisited
March 6, 2008 by Ron Shevlin
When I last posted a personal note, it was to let you know that I had parted ways with my former employer.
This personal note is to let you know that I started this week with Aite Group in Boston as a Senior Analyst. Aite is an analyst firm that specializes in covering the financial services industry. My focus will be on marketing-related topics in retail banking (not a big surprise, eh?).
My first report will look customer analytics (not web analytics) from a model development, data sourcing/integration, technology usage, and budget/investment level perspective.
If you’re a marketer in a bank, brokerage, or credit card provider and would be willing to talk with me for the research, please email me at rshevlin at aitegroup dot com. Also, if you work for a technology firm or services provider that offers analytics services to financial services firms, please let me know — I’d love to hear what you’re doing for your clients.
In addition, if this is not your first time on this blog, you might notice a new section on the right hand side of the page. I’ve self-published a book called Everything They’ve Told You About Marketing Is Wrong (not a big surprise, eh?). The cover art, which was designed and produced by Trabian’s Brent Dixon, is worth the price of the book itself.
That’s the update. We return you to your regularly scheduled blog.

Congrats on the new gig! I look forward to keeping up with your projects and new insights uncovered!
Gefeliciteerd (that’s Dutch for congratulations ) on your new job! I am glad you’ve found another place where you can keep up the good work but I do hope we will be seeing you doing the same here too.
I can’t wait to snag a copy of the book. And congrats again on the new gig.
Your new sidebar piece on your book is awesome. It makes me want to buy a copy of your book just to show you who’s boss.
And thanks for saying such nice things about the front cover design. It was a blast to make - Having a legitimate excuse to wave a flaming book out of my bedroom window (I know, not the smartest way to go about it) was fantastic.
Ron - congratulations, and best wishes on these new chapters in your life.
Good to learn you’re back on the saddle!
Hi ron,
Congratulations!
When I first ready “analyst” I thought you decided to become a psychiatrist, then I understood you are going to deal with even more disordered couples: banks and their customers.
Wish you all the best in this new job!
“delusions of brandeur”
Honestly, I’m going to be chuckling about that phrase all weekend.
Congrats on the job and book, Ron!
Ron,
I just ordered my copy - in spite of your warnings. I’m always looking for a good read and I do love the way you write.
How did the process of self-publishing go? I used BookSurge instead of LuLu and it was not easy. Congrats on the book!
